Evaluation Question 3
This is the evaluation of the audience feedback we collected during the making of our music video:
We also evaluated our audience feedback of our final music video from the showcase evening, and as a group discussed what we have learnt from this.

Final Magazine Advert
My final magazine advert for Dysphoria's Ep 'Static', conforms to most of the conventions of magazine adverts, for example:
- The font I used is big and bold throughout, and I also used the same font as we used in the opening titles of the music video and that I used on my digipak, to create a band brand and identity.
- The colour scheme used throughout is dark colours, mainly black and white, which conforms to the indie/rock genre, but also keeps synergy between the music video for 'Static', the digipak and finally the magazine cover.
- I used a QR code and an iTunes symbol in the bottom left and right corners as from my research of magazine adverts, a symbol of some kind is almost always found.
- I also included lots of information on the magazine cover, for example, the date the album will be released and how it is available for purchase (by CD/download). However, I did not include the band's website on the magazine advert which is a typical convention, so if I were to make it again I would include this.
- I placed a 4 star rating of an existing indie/rock magazine, to attract the target audience towards the album.

Magazine Advert Draft (Font Colours)
I am currently finishing off my magazine advert and was stuck with weather to pick all black font for continuity throughout, or change it to white so that it was a bit more bod and less repetitive. I turned to social media to ask my friend Claire which one she preferred as she is a fan of the indie/rock genre. She replied saying that she liked the white font more as it made it stand out more, so I will use the white font or my final magazine advert.

Magazine Advert First Draft
For my first attempt at creating a magazine advert to promote 'Static' by Dysphoria, I got a little carried away with creating a tour promotion poster and did not focus on creating a magazine advert to promote the band and their EP. Therefore, I will create another magazine advert that definitely covers this!

The Killer's Album Advert Analysis
There are many aspects of inspiration that I can take from The Killer's album magazine advert. For example, I can add text to the advert to promote the album and single, even though I am most likely to create an advert for a tour.

The 1975 Tour Advert Analysis
The 1975's tour advert is significantly more simplistic than the one for the Arctic Monkey's tour, as it has a plain black and white image for the background and only features the band's name/logo, the tour dates and the band's website. These three features are all features I will use in my magazine advert, however, I will probably use more features, as shown on the Arctic Monkey's advert, such as an image of our star and text promoting the album.
Arctic Monkey's Tour Advert Analysis
I can use many features of the Arctic Monkey's tour poster for my magazine advert, for example, the black and white features, the key image of the poster being focused on the lead singer/star of the band and the list of venues that the band will play during the tour.

Magazine Advert Research
The main conventions of a Magazine advert include: the name of the artist, the name of the product, a main image to promote the product, a logo of the brand, release dates, features of the product (for an album/tour it will typically display singles, tour dates etc.), the record label logo, social media links, QR codes and reviews.
One of the key features of a magazine advert promoting an artist's album or tour is to have an image of the band or star included. However, some adverts are also very simplistic, with simply the information needed stated. Similar the name of the artist and the purpose of the advert, i.e. to promote an album or tour, is also a key feature of magazine adverts.
The main image of the magazine advert is usually the same image as the album or EP, so that the audience can easily identify the artist. Some artists also add their logo and their record company's logo in order to do this.

Magazine adverts also usually feature key information that is needed for the consumer to buy the product being sold, for example, release dates, prices and key features of it (i.e. singles being released). Adverts also occasionally include reviews and ratings from popular sources of the artists genre, and will sometimes include the places the consumer can purchase the product being sold

Final Digipak
This is my final digipak for 'Static' by Dysphoria.
For the front cover I have used a simple image of the star's (Stefani) face, as many artists use a shot of the lead singer or star's face to allow the audience to identify with the band/star, therefore conforming to Richard Dyer's star quality theory. I changed the contrast and brightness of the image to make it stand out, and kept the colours in black and white. I chose to leave the colours in black and white due to this being the main feature of our music video for 'Static', due to dark colours especially black and white being a key feature of the indie/rock genre and due to many bands from my research having used this effectively. I also used the same font that we used at the beginning of our music video to introduce the band and song, which creates continuity between the music video and my digipak whilst also creating an image for the band. Lastly, I used a simple white spine with black font displaying the band's name and the EP name, which I saw frequently in my research.
For the middle of my digipak I placed a lyric book on the left with a similar colour and font theme, which is a common feature of a digipak. I also added a QR code at the bottom to incise the audience to find out more information about the band and to make the inside of the EP more exciting. For the left side I added the CD with a simple image from the music video to 'Static'.
